Marques Colston, Andre Reed call plays during Harrisburg Stampede - CBS 21 News - Breaking News (00:42)New Orleans Saints wide receiver Marques Colston and former Buffalo Bills star Andre Reed each grabbed a headset and coached the Stampede Saturday in Harrisburg's 80-15 win over the Tri-State Redhawks. With Harrisburg comfortably leading in the fourth quarter, Colston, who part-owns the franchise, called formations as a defensive coordinator. Colston's first appearance was a short one; Vincent Tiberi of the Stampede returned a fumble 26 yards for a touchdown on the very first play. Reed, who was a special guest of Stampede coach Bernie Nowotarski, called offensive plays during a five-play, 38-yard drive which resulted in a 22-yard touchdown toss to Eugene Goodman from Josh Finafrock to make the score 74-9. Reed attended a private meet-and-greet for Stampede corporate partners and season ticket holders before the game and also signed autographs at Harrisburg Mall earlier in the day. When it came to projecting Young's role with the Bills, Nix offered no guarantees except to say the starting job's already taken by Ryan Fitzpatrick, leaving Young competing for a backup job. Buffalo Bills Signing Vince Young a Smart Move (01:25)Let me tell you why this is a smart move. Vince Young can still play and he provides solid depth for a team that needs it all across the board including the quarterback position. There's also no risk to this signing. It's a one-year deal for minimal money -- one person familiar with the contract said it was for $2.1 million. If it doesn't work, he's gone, and the Bills paid nothing. If it does, they got a steal. It's easy to see what critics will say. He was awful in Philadelphia last year playing in six games and throwing nine interceptions. But last year many players with the Eagles weren't good. And while Bills coach Chan Gailey also has a mixed track record he's (mostly) been fairly decent at getting a lot out of quarterbacks and offenses. Again, the record is mixed, but Gailey might have a good shot at getting some consistency out of Young. Maybe. We'll see. Overall you have to like what the Bills have done both in free agency and the draft. The Bills are being smart again and that includes signing Young. ... -
