Colt McCoy Needs Ford 150 to Get Away from Pass Rush
Colt McCoy, QB for the hapless Cleveland Browns, is a local product endorser for Ford F-150 Pickup Trucks. My first and only Ford F-150 was a 1960 version that I bought in 1974 for $150 and used to drive to and from college. It was a great truck, so I can’t complain about Colt endorsing new ones.
But, hey, he’s really getting beat up this year. Is he holding the ball too long? Is he not making the reads? Only Pat Shurmer knows. Colt still looks like he isn’t back to his form under Eric Mangini and Brian Dobo. Of course, we do know that for two years in a row, the Cleveland Browns have more dropped passes than anyone.
Speaking of dropped passes, no one wants Terrell Owens. What a surprise. Chad Ochocinco needs to rename himself Chad Johnson and maybe people will remember when he was a good receiving.
Cold weather teams in the “West Coast” (Philadelphia and Green Bay) require really strong arms. Warm weather teams like San Francisco can get away with a bright guy with good feet and an average arm. Colt McCoy might be great for some other West Coast team, but it may be difficult to succeed in the North.
We like Colt. We want him to succeed. We think if Eric Mangini was coach, the team would be 8-3 now, but they’d end up 9-7. But no one liked Eric. No one liked Bill Bellichek. No one likes Pat Shurmer. Will Mike Holmgren make the jump?
